Untangling Bonus Video Slots!
Gayle Mitchell has written an informative guide to the sometimes overwhelming world of BVS (Bonus Video Slots). The number and variations on this new technology often leads to confusion on the casino floor and confusion translates into losing money. In clear language, Gayle leads us through the ins and outs of these multiline machines.

The Jungle of Bonus Slots Explained
In All Slots Made Easier #2, the author untangles the 'Jungle of Bonus Video Slots' for readers by explaining, rating and reviewing over 80 versions in a concise guide. I have chosen several from the author's recommendations and now enjoy my casino visits and profits. My hat is off to Ms. Mitchell.

Best Bonus Video Slots--A Winner
This book is another winner in the Casino Gambling Made Easier Series by Gayle Mitchell.
The 'how-to' and 'what' versions of play, re: new bonus slots is revealed.
Three of my favorites are Little Green Men, Easy Street and Slingo--what fun.

The Big Player: How a Team of Blackjack Players Made a Million Dollars
Published in Hardcover by Henry Holt & Company, Inc. (April, 1977)
Author: Ken, Uston
Amazon base price: $7.95
Used price: $12.00

Great adventure of a team of players out to beat the casino!
Back in the late 70's and early 80's, Ken Uston was the king of blackjack. The Big Player is a story of his adventures where he gets recruited into a team of card counters to play and win blackjack against the casinos. This book does not present any card counting systems. It is a book about the stories he had after going up against the casinos.

He had a wild ride and discusses the never ending battle between his teams and the casinos. How they'd get barred, different tactics and strategies they used, team play, etc.

If you are interested in card counting of blackjack, you'll love this story.

easy read with comprehesive winning strategies
Gayle's first book is an easy read and easy to understand--she offers not only the rules of five best bets, blackjack, craps, (mini)baccarat, slots and my favorite video poker but explains the best strategies to "attack" these games. She tells some good stories and offers best casinos in Vegas and Laughlin - I now have her second book.

Look out, casinos, gambling just got easier.
We purchased this book because we wanted to possibly expand the number of casino games we were playing. With all of the screams at the Craps and Blackjack tables, were we missing the fun? Our only game was slot machines before we read Gayle's statement,"If you play and learn only one other game, make it video poker." After studying the strategies in this book, we have found the FUN. My VP play seemed successful from the begining. My 4th trip delivered the "Royal Flush". My wife, also a beginner, has recently hit one as well. Even more astounding, to us, in a 3 week period this month we hit 19 VP and 2 slot jackpots. Making a 1999 total of 26 jackpots, so far. This book has improved our selecting slot machines and we never had any VP strategy previously. We are now ordering her book "Video Poker Made Easier", just in case this winning can indeed get easier. Thanks, Gayle.

Wow!!!! Why didn't I read that before I lost so much $$
Superb book - learned so very very much - thanks Gayle - you taught me so much and I had a great time with your humour. Learning can be fun, can't it?

You Can Win!: Blackjack Made Easy

excelent book, if it was free
This book contains very little of information, but will get the begineer off to a good start. All of the technics and terms are presented in a very easy to understand manner. However, by searching the internet for "blackjack strategy" or something similar to that, you'll find many free sites with very similar stuff withing 10 minutes.

Thanks Stephen
I'd bought your book because I generally play slots but hadn't had much luck there. I know blackjack has better odds but I didn't know the best strategy to increase my chances of winning. Plus, I didn't want to embarrass myself by not knowing proper table etiquette. Your book took care of all my concerns, plus I turned $50 into $300. Thanks!

The Genuine article
Having worked with Mr. Mead in St Louis I was privileged to see this book in the idea and early stages. People in the casino business can pick up most of the books out there on casino gambling and get to maybe page 6 or 7 before tossing it because that author is also full of baloney. This is not the case with You Can Win! Blackjack Made Easy. Mr. Meads' book is the genuine article. Having worked in casinos over 20 years I would recommend it over any book out there on the game of 21 .

Craps Made Simple
Published in Paperback by Thomas Co (June, 1992)
Author: Thomas B. Gallagher
Amazon base price: $6.95

Basic details were covered in a simple manner.
As a novice I found this book helpful at learning the very basics of craps. To me, the bold print and the drawing were helpful.

After reading this book and going to the casino I found that I could perform basic functions and know what I was doing. What I am desiring after a few trips to the casino is a second stage (an intermediate level) that goes into brief straight-forward details of other bets on the table. I realize these bets are not recommended, but I have seen the table "hot" and nice rewards gained there.

I enjoy the game and I am ahead. If the table is cold (or turns cold) I walk away.

Craps Made Simple
This book is by far the most concise book I've ever read on craps. The language used made it easy to understand and very easy to implement. On my first trip to Las Vegas, after reading the book, I was able to win at craps for the first time. Thank you Mr. Gallager. You made my trip to Vegas very enjoyable.

Great for the beginner
This book only has 26 pages so I guess on a price per page basis its cost is high. Another way to look at it is that its simplicity makes understanding the game easy for the beginner. There is none of the usual filler material to page through and skip. Every page is right on target.

Great follow-up to first book with more winning strategies
Mitchell has done it again with best bets and best strategies. I learned some new games like pai-gow poker, roulette techniques, and sports betting from this new book plus new information on the five best bets from first book. Plus world travellers will love the Worldwide Casino Travelogue included in this book. I did not know there were casinos in Asia, Africa, Australia, etc Mitchell tells you about them with lots of information plus Las Vegas bests and telephone directory. Another winner that teaches "intelligent gambling".

not worth buying
After sending this book or should I say "booklet" to my mom for her birthday gift, I was completely embarassed after my mom sent it back to me to read. There was very little info that people don't already know and the statistic information was complicated to understand and of little use. They rate the slot machines and then discount all that data by mentioning that the manufactorer sets the machines according to each casino. So don't waste your money and definately don't send as a gift!

All Slots Are Not Created Equal!
Thanks to Mitchell's latest book, I now know that all slots are not created equal.
Before reading "All Slots Made Easier #3," I carefully managed my gambling money, but without paying attention to which slot version I played. Mitchell gives readers, whether seasoned players or amateurs, a straight-forward analysis of hit frequency and payout percentage to help us ENJOY our casino experiences.

Evening the Odds
I always assumed that all slot machines were alike--boy, did I have a lot to learn! Gayle Mitchell went to the source--slot machine manufacturers--to learn slot payout ranges and average hit frequencies (how often a slot will pay). She used the data to identify 200 slots with the best percentage payouts. That list of 200 top slots is included in All Slots Made Easier #3, along with reviews of many of the top slots.

Readers are also offered a free newsletter and more gambling tips at Mitchell's web site. I feel better prepared for my next casino visit. Can't wait to try out her tips!

Great stories, but a bit dated
This book is at its best when focusing on the less recent past in it's stories of Benny Binion, Howard Hughes, Jay Sarno, Sam Boyd and the like ... which are all excellent. I found the Kirk Kerkorian and Steve Winn ones a bit lacking, mostly because their stories aren't really over yet.

The last two chapters, not bios, but concept pieces , "How Popular Literature Has Treated Las Vegas" and "The Adult Playground Becomes a Heaven for Families" .. are pretty much a waste since Vegas has now focusing on going back to its "Adult" roots ..and the read no longer makes sense.

However, it you want to get some great and entertaining stories of the "good old days" .. and even a little before the "good old days", the first two-thirds of this book is certainly worth the asking price.

Interesting stories. So-so writing.
These are great tales of Las Vegas, but the writing drags. The research is clearly of the just-believe-what-someone-told-me school. There's still a great book to be written about the builders of the Strip and Glitter Gultch. This book is not the one.

Find Out How Vegas Became What it is Today-Read this Book!
I recently visited Las Vegas for the first time and wasmesmerized by what I saw. Every casino appeared to have a story behindit, and upon my return home, I wanted to know those stories.

The Players is a terrific read. The chapters give just ther right information on each topic to develop a working contextual knowledge of Vegas History. I was particularly fascinated by information on the Glitter Gulch rebels like Boyd and Binion. With the development of the Fremont Street experience, Downtown Vegas is a formidable tourist destination once again.

Overall, a great book. Don't let the fact that is published by a university press scare you. The chapters are short and clearly written. The casino business jargon is kept to a minimum, or when it is used, it is explained well. This book deserves more of an audience.

interested reader
the price alone speaks not even close of rating doesn't deserve a star either

This Book is a Jump-Start to Winning VP
I was a Slots Player only, until I went searching for some VP advice. I found Video Poker Made Easier to be a step-by-step guide you can use as a jump-start to winning VP.

Don't Waste Your Money
This book (book ? more like a pamphlet) is worthless. Nothing and I mean nothing of use here. I read both pamphlets All Slots Made Easier and All Slots Made Easier 2 and they both stink.

Slot Machines
I actually won on slot machines, for the first time! I had my trip paid for when I flew to Vegas. The book provided a simple plan to make all the different types of slot machines easier, and this easy plan helped me when the money that I normally just donate to whatever casino I visit. It is very helpfuly knowing that your odds are pretty good--that you have a better chance to win money than all the people sitting around you. This book changed me from a table player who sometimes wins, to a slot player who always wins.

SHE'S A WINNER!!!!
Wow!!! Thanks Gayle, you have made me (finally) a winner. Seemed that I attended casinos for the sole purpose of "donating" money - rarely did I ever leave with my pockets jingling.

Read your book and did I ever LEARN!!! Soooo very nice to leave the casino grinning from ear to ear. Well, not every time, but 70% more.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and insight. And, please,, keep writing about any more tips that come to mind. You just may make me rich one day.

-a frequent winner, Kathy
