Misleading title, no winning strategies involved( bad )
This book only teaches you the rules and nothing about how to win in baccarat. It deceptively set you up for purchasing the more expensive $20.00 book instead, so why did I need to buy this one.

Beat the Odds Blackjack: Playing the Percentages Without Counting Cards

No no no no!
This is one of many dreadful books on BJ - I read it in a shop, without buying it, thank goodness. He presents an "altered" form of basic strategy, which flies in the face of the years of work done by the earlier BJ experts (Thorpe, Braun), seemingly based on the principle of avoiding busting bustable hands, and he claims that players tend to receive bad hands (14, 15, 16) because small and large cards tend to "stick together" after the shuffle! This book's advice will cause you to 1) bust fewer hands and 2) lose even more money. Avoid!

Casino Keno
This book was very basic, had nothing in it that you couldn't find on a pamphlet handed out for free at any casino. There was only one page that had some keno tips on it that may be helpful to some people, especially people new to the game of keno. But for anyone else that has played this game before, there is nothing new in this book that we keno players don't already know.

Collecting Casino Dice
Published in Paperback by Camelot Publishing Co (June, 2003)
Author: Donald D. Spencer
Amazon base price: $24.95
Average review score:

Marginal quality-not a good product for the price.
This work is little more than an expanded brochure, with far too little detail concerning the types and varieties of dice available to the collector. It looks formula-written, with way too many poorly reproduced photographs of casino postcards. Certainly not worth the price tag. The front cover depicting a pair of dice, with one die showing two sides with four pips, (not exactly something you are going to see when collecting casino dice), is an appropriate warning for this book.

Overpriced - Just a workbook - Expected more - Nothing New
I read the review of the book prior to buying the book and I was impressed by the way the review was written. When the "work booklet" came, I was immediately disappointed because I expected, for the price, a "hard bound book" with some real depth of the game including many techniques to try. The booklet was so small that I read everything within an hour. The 24 hour service was to call the casinos around the U.S. I did'nt need that. I felt that I should be able to call the Author or someone associated with the Author and get some real Help, as we say (from the horses mouth). This booklet gave 1 technique and I have known about that from other books. Personally, I wish I didn't buy this book. As far as I am concerned I would not recommend this book.

Don't Buy This Book
Don't Play the Slot Machines (Until You've Read This Book) should be titled Don't Buy This Book. This is the most useless book on gambling ever written. The only good thing that you can say is that the book is only 128 pages and you can read the whole thing at lunch, sans desert. The author provides such valuable insights as - most players lose and a few win. And, the plastic thing that casinos give you to carry your coins is a cup. Or, the place where coins fall is called a tray. Or how about this one - if you win a lot of money, the casino will pay you by hand. The back cover says the author's job is to answer customer questions in a South Dakota casino. If this is the type of advise he thinks South Dakotans need, he does not think much of the good people of that state. I would sell my copy, but it is not worth the postage. Save your money and put it in a slot machine.

Disappointing!
I purchased this book for information on Reno. What a disappointment. More than half the book is dedicated to Las Vegas, the remainder of the book is dedicated to the REST of Nevada. I would MAYBE purchase this book if I were going to Las Vegas, otherwise, forget it.

Where was the Editor when this one slipped through the net?
I liked the title and the back cover blurb so I thought, yes, I'll read this book, it should be good. Well IT IS NOT GOOD!

It is one of the most badly written romance novels I have ever had the misfortune to pay good money for, and I persevered right through to the end to make sure I got my money's worth.

Truth to tell, the book improves about 2 thirds of the way through, but most normal people would have given up well before then.

I would recommend the author to read a lot of current romance novels so that she realises that her characterisations are very lack lustre and wooden, and her writing of the dialogue of the children in the book is terrible, completely unrealistic.

The main characters have no tension between them - romantic or sexual - and the reasons they get together at all are glossed over.

I cannot understand any editor allowing something of this poor quality to be published - when you compare this to your average Mills & Boon, most of those novels are much better written, with at least some semblance of logic to the plot and characters that you can feel SOMETHING for.

I would say to anyone considering buying this book - save your money, or try reading something by Linda Howard, Debbie Macomber, Lavyrle Spencer, Catherine Cookson - now that's good writing!

Gambling times guide to harness racing
A terrible and very disappointing book, not even sutible for a beginner. What is is are some very basic parts of 2 other books Harness racing gold by Igor Kusyshyn And from Stanleys Law by Al Stanley(and it certainly isnt the best of)Each of the 2 books ive mentioned, although almost a quarter of a century old are still usefull in todays market,as are any of Al Stanleys other writings. You are far better off getting a hold of those other books and just pretend this book was never written

There are better books
For my money, I think "The Complete Book of Golf Games" by Scott Johnston is a better book. It's better written and designed while giving essentially the same information.
