The Best Source to having a good chance at winning Millions.
Time and time again people play the lottery, but fall short
because some do not use any methods, but just pick whatever number comes to mind. Winning is about luck, and strategies
not just about picking whatever number.
The book has several chapters that talk about the ways, the
different ways one may improve on his game, Your lotto game.
It does not matter what game it is: Powerball, Texas Lotto, The Virginia Lottery because the literature will help you with what you want, and that is strategies. All you have too do is read the book plain and simple; i believe it is a small book because another Version of this book came out and is a litte bigger, but the author is still Professor Jones.

One method that will stick with you is the Frequency number theory. This Frequency theory talks about which number comes out the most in the lottery. The methods are simple to read, and are not time consuming as other books that offer strategies that you may think are good but are nothing but one thing: JUNK & PURE CONFUSION.
[...] Book is recommended.

EVERY LOTTO PLAYER CAN USE THIS BOOK
IF YOU LOVE PLAYING LOTTO LIKE I DO, THEN YOU WILL WANT THIS BOOK IN YOUR COLLECTION.THE BOOK GIVES MANY USEFUL TIPS AND RATES NUMBER ONE WITH ME- SAME AS HIS OTHER BOOK DID. YOU NEVER GO WRONG ORDERING A BOOK WRITTEN BY PROF. JONES.. I JUST WISHED HE HAD ANOTHER I COULD ORDER.

An Astounding Contribution To Lotto Knowledge
This book has made the difference in my lotto play. Using the strategies contained herein, I've CONSISTENTLY won on a monthly basis. Over the past 6 months, I've actually made money. If you don't get this book. You're burning money.

Even odds on whether it's worth it.
Despite the subtitle ("A True Tale of Love and the Vig") I was plagued throughout my reading of this semi-confession of a former Ivy-leaguer's plummet into the world of bookmaking by a certain dubiousness. Alson's story is written in a kind of flippantly open manner that undermines the believability of his insider's story. Don't get me wrong, it's very entertaining and all, but his coyness about just how "connected" the small-time operation he was a part of was came across as rather disingenuous to me. While his confusion and despair about figuring out what he should be doing with his overeducated self hit the right notes, the subplot of the long distance sort of relationship was often more annoying than interesting. Still, not a bad little peek into bookmaking.

What a brave and compelling tale!
I felt like I was growing up with Peter as he faced the consequences of his decisions. Looking forward to his next one.

A Sure Bet!
I really liked this book! I thought it was a refreshing and entertaining look at how are lives don't always end up as we had planned. There are some unresolved issues, but perhaps that makes the book all the more realistic. A movie version of this book would do very well.

You Can Win!: Blackjack Made Easy

excelent book, if it was free
This book contains very little of information, but will get the begineer off to a good start. All of the technics and terms are presented in a very easy to understand manner. However, by searching the internet for "blackjack strategy" or something similar to that, you'll find many free sites with very similar stuff withing 10 minutes.

Thanks Stephen
I'd bought your book because I generally play slots but hadn't had much luck there. I know blackjack has better odds but I didn't know the best strategy to increase my chances of winning. Plus, I didn't want to embarrass myself by not knowing proper table etiquette. Your book took care of all my concerns, plus I turned $50 into $300. Thanks!

The Genuine article
Having worked with Mr. Mead in St Louis I was privileged to see this book in the idea and early stages. People in the casino business can pick up most of the books out there on casino gambling and get to maybe page 6 or 7 before tossing it because that author is also full of baloney. This is not the case with You Can Win! Blackjack Made Easy. Mr. Meads' book is the genuine article. Having worked in casinos over 20 years I would recommend it over any book out there on the game of 21 .

Concise and Helpful
This book was very concise, helpful, and to-the-point about each topic in its content list. The items are (for the most part) helpful tips that are boiled down from more complex strategies for the games discussed. A few of the items are redundant and/or are just too common sense to be part of the numbered title. But most are appropriate, important, and well described. I would have liked more general detail on money management and casino details, but it's a good beginner's primer on many games and a good supplement to other more thorough books.

All Star Review
Walter Thomason who wrote the excellent "21st Century Blackjack" has assembled a who's who of gambling writers to give tips on all the games. The book works! Anyone interested in a quick-hit course in casino gaming will do well to buy this book. A very good job.

Good Reading on Gambling
Walter Thomason and other experts such as Frank Scoblete, Henry Tamburin, and John Grochowski have written a very good book. Each piece of advice is short and to the point. The book is very well designed and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get a good grounding in most of the games.

A Strange Mix of Statistics and Superstition
I bought this book on in an airport and enjoyed it. I got me interested in learning how to play blackjack correctly, so, in that sense, it was great. It's relatively clear and geared toward the beginner. The mathematical focus of some sections made the strategies more easy to understand. The problem with this book, however, is that it sometimes rejects the correct play. If you are ahead in the count, keep playing. Leaving the table, even when you're losing, basically amounts to wasting all the effort you put into counting. Also, streak betting is just plain superstition. If you can count, this information is more valuable than the tendancy for streaks to indicate a favorable count. Finally, If somebody at the table doesn't make the correct plays, you don't have to leave. It is just as likely to help as to hurt you. It was ok, but I'm sure there are better books than this.

Learn to Win @ Blackjack
Tamburin gives you the three steps (The Play, The Betting & The Card Count) necessary to win. He also gives you the easier approach and the better, harder approach. Explanation of the true count calculation was harder than it should have been, but otherwise an excellent book. Has greatly improved my game. I now win more than I lose.

Take the money and run
Fantastic book!. Since I've bought it, I have stepped away from a Casino, always as a winner. I am not a proffesional gambler, but I love to win some extra money when I visit a Casino. I am looking forward to buy the rest of Mr. Tamburin's books. He deserves it.

different team, different kind of corruption
Tim Green returns with another tale of NFL corruption. This time the star player is a quarterback who has gone bad by giving into mob influence and becomes a pawn in the plot of a mob lieutenant who wants to become a heavy hitter in the big leagues. This book does a little more with developing its characters and stays true to the formula of delivering an interesting football-based scandalous plot. It delivers a good ride and a satisfying conclusion.

Good but no surprises
When I read Green's book, I was startled to realized that I could predict what was going to happen next. It was one of those bad guy/good guy books that have not a whole lot new to offer. Except the ending. I wouldn't have guessed it in a million years. It's worth reading just for that.

It's Tony Soprano on the five yard line!
TITANS centers around New York Titans All-Star quarterback Hunter Logan on the event that elevated him to hero-worship: winning the Super Bowl. What his teammates and wife don't realize is that Hunter also has a slight problem. To make sure that he remains in the cash and to satisfy a urge to play chance, he makes side bets on basketball games with the help of a bookie meadiated by his friend and former teammate, Metz. Chance plays a heavier hand in Hunter's life when buddy Metz takes his latest cash bet from Hunter and places every dime on the Titans to win their latest game. The amount betted alerts Tony Rizzo, ganster and begging to be leader of his uncle's mafia family, to tail Metz and discover Hunter's involvement, then blackmail him into a points shaving racket that will involve Tony going to the owner of the Titans and exposing him to the NFL if he doesn't comply. Need more incentive, then how about killing Hunter's wife, then his daughter? What neither realizes is that Ellis Cook, FBI agent and leader of a mob task force, is trailing Tony and looking for evidence to send him to prison and close down the connecting families operating in New York. What Cook doesn't realize is that within the walls of the FBI, a traitor is spilling the developments of the impending case against Tony to his uncle, Vincent Mondolffi, one of the ruling families. The mole is easy to figure out, but the development of the story is not, and just when it looks like there is no way out, another door opens and the suspense kicks in on another level. Lengthy, yet worthy of more football-suspense stories. Good work, Mr. Green!

Good for beginners and recreational players.
This book is suitable for beginners and recreational players but those who know basic strategy and count cards will not benefit much from this book...

Great book for beginners
Those who know basic strategy and count cards will not benefit much from this book, except possibly as a refresher, but for those starting out it is invaluable. It is better to become familiar with the rules of blackjack before you step into a casino, rather than learn at the tables, and this book is a great way to start. Basic strategy, something every blackjack player should know, is covered thoroughly. All reputable blackjack writers acknowledge the need to know basic strategy cold, which you can do if you study this book.

If you want to win at Blackjack, read this book
This is an awesome book for those who want to win at Blackjack but don't want to learn the math behind card counting. You won't win every hand (if you did, you should write a book). But, this book explains how to win overall at the tables in plain and simple english. It goes into the basics of the game, terminology, the strategies and ideas behind playing against the dealer, has charts on what to do based on different casino rules, and touches on how to and how much to bet. I've seen different charts and strategies but the ones in this book did the best for me. A must read for every Blackjack player who wants to win at the tables.

needed more work
The writer is obviously a serious poker player, but the book is not well-organized. The result isn't very reader-friendly. I'd be very eager to see a reworked second edition, though.

This is the one
I have read "Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players", "The Theory of Poker", "Winner's Guide to Hold'em Poker", and "Ken Warren Teaches Texas Hold'em" in addition to this book. After reading all those, I was consistantly making profit, and placing in the top 4 or 5 in tournaments. After reading this one on a flim (because of another review here, actually), I won my first tournament.

He teaches you how to think in Hold'em poker. The other books touch on that subject, especially "Ken Warren Teaches...", but its just not done in a way I was able to "get". I learn from books, not from being taught in a classroom, and this book is icredible in my opinion. At one point the author recommends reading some of the other books, but says you should finish his first: He couldn't have said it any better.

I highly recommend this book for anybody who wants to learn how to play Texas Hold'em. To put in perspective, he only lightly touches no limit/pot limit games, or tournaments for that matter (although more than some of the other books), but yet the tournament I won was a no-limit. I think that speaks volumes!

The Complete Book of Hold 'Em Poker: Gary Carson
I purchased this book when it was published and have read it several times. I have many other books in my poker library but this one has done the most to turn my game around. Carson gives another side of how to look at Holdem' poker. He doesn't give hard and fast rules to follow, instead he trys to get you to think. There is so much here to think about, I still go back to individual chapters and re-read them. When I run into trouble, or have the time to study poker, instead of play it that is. This book will pay for itself many times over.

Gambling Scams: How They Work, How to Detect Them, How to Protect Yourself
Published in Hardcover by Dodd Mead (June, 1984)
Author: Darwin Ortiz
Amazon base price: $15.95
Used price: $5.00
Collectible price: $4.75
Average review score:

Outdated and Impractical
First of all, let me state that I do not doubt the skills of Mr. Ortiz. His card skills anyway. His writing skills, however, leave something to be desired. He claims to have completed some course work at NYU Law. With the writing skills demonstrated in this book, though, either that was a long time ago or my opinion of NYU Law have just dropped.

Beyond the style of the writing, I found the majority of the work's content to be of marginal value. Many of the scams that he illustrates in his book have been out of use in major gambling establishments for years (see the chapter on slot machines). In addition, most of the scams that he describes would occur outside of most reputable gambling establishments. While I do not doubt that such places exist somewhere in the universe, not only have I never seen one, but probably would have never trusted such a place even before having read this book.

The one chapter which I did find somewhat useful was that on crooked carnival games. Overall, I would recommned that you save your money and just learn the general theme of the book, don't gamble.

One of the best sources for information on gambling scams
Gambling Scams is really an encyclopedic description of gambling scams, from con men to cheating at dice games and card cheating in private games. The author's repute, experience and skills in card and dice manipulation are unquestioned. Darwin Ortiz is truly providing worthwile information to protect oneself from gambling scams from the "inside". Thus, the correctness of his publication is undoubted. I highly recommend this publication to anyone wishing to protect themselves from dishonest gamers or those with a particular interest in gambling scams in general. If you're thinking of buying the book to learn card manipulation then perhaps you should look elsewhere for more descriptive explanations of particular "moves", such as "The Expert at the Card Table," by S.W. Erdnase, a classic which describes numerous manipulations, in minutia.

The greatest book ever written on gaming
This book will expose the world of scams and cheating you never thought possible. It covers card markers, sleight of hand, casino cheating, amateur cheating, and anything else you need to know. Plus it gives you a couple of realistic proposition hustles you can use on your friends, and enemies to easily pay for the book

Winning Strategies for Video Poker

Not for Beginners
The author is a former rocket scientist and the book contains many charts that the "average" person may find difficult to fathom. There are very few explanations for the terms used in the charts and minimal examples. The beginning player wants to know why video poker is so popular; the difference between normal slots and video poker; what are full-pay machines. If you are just starting out - don't start with this book.

A Must Read for Any Video Poker Fan
A wonderful, comprehensive, easy to read book on video poker. It makes it easy and fun to play the game and to know you are making the right play. Lenny Frome deserves his title as master of video poker. I started out not really knowing how to play the game but now I love playing and feel confident that I am using the winning strategy! The EV tables make are easy to use. I also suggest reading VP Americas National Game of Chance by the same author.

ALMOST AS MUCH FUN TO READ AS IT IS TO PLAY
I am a regular video poker player. I had heard many positive things about Mr. Frome's book, though I do not generally anjoy reading. The book was very enjoyable to read and immediately improved my play and that was very rewarding, if you know what I mean. I highly recomend the book for players at any level.
