Expert Strategy for Let It Ride

Average review score:

A Must Read For LIR Players!
I have played using the information that the late Mr. Frome wrote and I found it to be very beneficial! I watched people at a Casino play the game and lose alot of money. By using the information in the book, I was able to take $100 and turn it into $1000 in 20 minutes.

Mr. Frome was the person that had completely calculated the game and the house "edge" so that the Nevada Gaming Comission could allow it to be played in its' Casinos.

The information is invaluable! I recommend this book to anyone that has watched the game and was unsure if they should play it or those that play the game and want to win more!

Buying this book is a sure thing
This is a well-written book about numbers, life, probability, humor, trading, and you-name-it, disguised as a series of articles about gambling odds. If you are a gambler, you must read this book. If you are not a gambler and you don't buy it, you're taking your chances anyway!

An intriguing look behind the man who caused such controvery
More than a biography, this books reads like a novel--deftly written with narrative pinache. I entered the book with reservation since I didn't particulary care for the man, but left with an appreciation for him and the writer of the book. Ms. Wadsworth is a talented researcher, interviewer, and writer. She engaged me from the beginning and then guided me through the gaming jargon in the middle. By the end I felt I knew Jimmy the Greek personally.

History of "Sin City"
The history of Las Vegas, that wonderful city that has come to be known as Sin City, is chronicled here through the stories of the first 100 people to make an impact on the Valley. Starting with people like John C. Freemont and continuing to current day notables like Kirk Kerkorian, this book is a superb background to how this city came about. If you are a Las Vegas "nut", this is a must have book! If you want a good reading history book, this is also a good choice.

These are very well written accounts of the First 100 who helped make Las Vegas, "The Meadows", the city of shopping, gambling, and entertainment. Get this book, sit back, and enjoy!

A Friendly Game?
Published in Paperback by Eleven-Bar-Seven Publishing (December, 1996)
Authors: Bert Morris and Mark R. Swindler
Amazon base price: $17.95

It really does contain valuable information on card cheating
When I first received this book, I wasn't overly impressed with the size (105 pages) and the fact that it was a paperback for its relatively high price tag. BUT, Bert Morris jam packs this small publication with terrific information, insights and a wealth of detail about card sharks! I loved it. It is enjoyable reading for the amateur card player trying to keep himself/herself from getting taken. I have done a lot of research on the subject of card cheating and I agree that 99% of the information and cheating methods exposed in this book are not printed anywhere. I often play in private poker games in West Texas as well as Hold-em and OMaha high-low in Casinos all over the country whenever I can. This book is invaluable!

super book on gambling to win
This is the best of the maybe 20 books on gambling that I've read. The author's ideas are well thought out, clear, and concise. His chapter on "Wagering Plans" is superb. His very conservative betting progression is much better than more commonly known progressions at surviving bad runs. I would highly recommend this book to anyone serious about increasing their chances of coming home from Las Vegas a winner.

Gamblers of the old West : gambling men and women of the 1800s : how they lived-- how they died
Published in Unknown Binding by B & F Enterprises, Inc. (01 March, 1996)
Author: Bill Kelly
Amazon base price: $24.95
Average review score:

A style worthy of a painter's brush
GAMBLERS OF THE OLD WEST contains more factual history of the old west than an full sized encyclopedia. It doesn't stop with gun-totin' men gamblers like Wyatt Earp and Wild Bill Hickok, but takes in lady gamblers. I found Bill Kelly's usual sprinkle of humor very enduring and I found myself waiting for more of his anadotes as I turned the pages. This book not only makes for fascinating reading, but it gives us a full insight to the way the west really was. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to enhance his library. It makes a great Christmas or birthday gift, although it may be overpriced a little. Dennis Manciano California
