Lyle does it again!
Who better to get advice about gambling than the man that casinos go to to learn how to protect themselves? Several time baccarat champion and casino advisor, Lyle Stuart has done it again.

Lyle tells you which games to play and which to avoid like the plague. He gives odds and tips on how to win at the casinos and more importantly walk away a winner.

He also entertains you with true stories of winning and losing millions in hours. If you only read one authority on gambling, Lyle is your man for honest, straight forward advice about casinos, gambling and not losing your shirt.

Great advice for the semi-experienced gambler.
This book is about developing a winning philosophy for gambling. While it does include some strategic tips for playing casino games, the book does not set out to teach you how to play. Instead of focusing on the rules and strategy for individual games, it teaches money managment and how to maximize your chances of leaving the casino with more money in your pocket than you brought in. Lyle Stuart is an acknowledged gambling expert, and he offers up his own experiences in playing and watching casino games. Even though there is a bit too much self-congratulations throughout, his stories are entertaining, and he does a good job of explaining complex odds to the layman. This is a very useful book for anyone who has a basic understanding of casino play.

Entertaining and Accurate
A very good read. Will make you a better casino player if followed! Will also increase your winnings.

A great book for a small price!

Great Book
If you want to learn all about Baccarat, this is the book to read. No get rich quick system here. You get betting systems that are based on the mathematics of how the game works, and examples based on real play in casinos. There is also stuff on how to enjoy playing at the tables like a pro.

Workable suggestions
The suggestions in this book could be used effectively at mini baccarat,if the casino does not burn a card after the end of every deal like they do at some asian casinos. Also, there is the shuffling machine barrier to deal with which is difficult to figure out.
You may have the best strategies but if the casinos do their very best to minimise card counters and people who shuffle spook then a totally different approach to the game is neccessary if you want to get a better fighting chance at the tables.

Remarkable study of the game of Baccarat
This is probably the best book on Baccarat, and I preciously keep my copy for reference. John May's mastery of all historical, social and quantitative aspects of the game is remarkable. My only complaint is that the author tends to get carried away when he suggests "winning" strategies. Don't expect to find a practical way of making money in this book: unfortunately, a baccarat deck is much more stable than a blackjack deck. Still, if someone ever finds a winning strategy for baccarat, he will probably have read this book.

Finally, a very minor point: there is a small mistake in the description of the rules of Baccarat Banque... although since Baccarat Banque is hardly ever played today it does not really matter.

The DEFINITIVE Book on Baccarat
This is by far the best of 3 books I've read on Baccarat. I find it hard to believe that another book would have any more to add. The counting system is difficult (to perform, not to understand) but mathematically viable.

Avoid John Patrick's book at all costs.

'BACCARAT THRIVES WITH IMAGINATION!'
I thoroughly enjoyed Mark Broderick's 'Baccarat'Nine Lives South of Boona.' A fast read, 'Baccarat' features a small town's struggle with the recent Millennium Fever and its sparks that launched a Creator's winning hand. The annual cruise of the residents is always a gamble and this year is clearly no exception. One main character, Max Prometheus Holon, helps those on that cruise gain some wisdom. On the other hand, Eleanor is like the restlessly wandering moon; she's a fleeing creature who eventually confronts Max. Together, they create an experience rich with original characters. No one is immune to Millennium Fever even if you are, or have been, an immortal and the goings on of the gods will never again be musty ancient history. Celestial high jinks, missing humidors, dirty hands and dirty smiles, an underworld mail carrier, extortion, high stakes croquet. . . all offered me a feast for the mind'and the senses.

Wickedly Delicious
Excellent up and coming new writer...can't wait for more!
Possibly The Next Great American Writer?!

An Imaginative Millennium!
In 'Baccarat,' the winner of the annual tournament gets to rule that big town for one year while the loser serves it. However, being south of Boona means the growth might not be all that is expected.

Publisher's Weekly offers this praise for Baccarat: 'Gods and mortals alike succumb to gambling fever aboard the Peace of Boona on its yearly baccarat cruise, and would-be lovers Max and Eleanor, children of two of the game's celebrated fixtures, are alternately seduced and repulsed by the frenzy. From up above, Kronos, Apollo, and other celestial powerhouses dabble in earthly matters as the Titan Argus competes with the mortal D. A. Holon for the strumpet La Petite's love in Mark Broderick's madcap first book.'

A Must Have Book for the Craps Shooter
This is a great book to get if you are a novice craps shooter. It doesn't get into the step by step betting sequences like some other books. If that's what you're looking for than this isn't the bookto buy. This is an "attitude" book. It explains a few strategies and talks about the mental toughness to be a good craps shooter. The best part and biggest reason to buy is the exercise about rolling the dice and charting the outcomes! You'll be amazed!!

Accurate gambling info and Fun.
I enjoyed this book because it had a realistic sense of what it is like to play and gamble in the Casinos in Vegas and Atlantic City. Mr. Stuart has "been there, done that". I have used with some success two of his "systems", on occasion. He knows percentages and how to use them, and his other advice on gambling is very helpful. We all know the house will always win in the long run, but he really puts it to them, in his lucky streak, and I believe, as does he, that is the only way to go.!! Great Reading.

Greatest gambling book of all time
Packed with true grit and determination. Funny and witty at times. True stories from a 'high roller' hit home even for one who spends his time at the 2$ tables. Has saved me thousands. Even came away a winner a few times. Re read it every time I go back to Vegas. Wish I could have met the author. George S. Getz October 7, 1997

One Word - Great
This is the best book on baccarat I've ever read and I've read just about all of them, including John May's excellent book. But May is too esoteric, while Scoblete can teach the average player to really exploit this game for comps. He also has the most remarkable way to reduce the casino edge on the Bank bet by 20 percent! Get this book for its research and revelations. Like all of Scoblete's books it is well written and enjoyable.

I Discovered a Great Game
I had never been interested in baccarat before but I am a Frank Scoblete fan so I bought this book. It was worth it. First of all, like all Scoblete's books that I have read, it is first rate. It is fun to read and just analyzes the game thoroughly. Scoblete shows why the traditional game of baccarat is much better than the mini version. He also explains how to really reduce what the house wins by maximizing comps and by using an ingenious strategy for reducing the commission on the Bank bet from 5 percent to 4 percent. I hve tried this strategy in five casinos and had success in two of them. Scoblete also analyzes over 40,000 decisions at baccarat and explains why these are very lose to the probability of what happens in the math. I wish I had better powers of writing because I know I am not doing this book justice. It turned me on to baccarat and I am loving every minute of it!

Great New Book by Scoblete
Scoblete does a very interesting experiment in this book. He copmpares 40,000 hands of baccarat betting bank or player on each and shows how the casino edge manifests iself in this run. He explains how to reduce the edge by betting select amounts on bank hands that the casino will pay off at a 4 percent commission instead of 5. Very ingenious. As with all Scoblete's books, it is excellently written and shows why he is the top gambling writer in the world. I learned many important things from this book and one was to stay away from mini-baccarat! I highly recommend this to casino players.

A Top Notch Book On Gambling
In a revision of his 1983 book, Jerry Patterson offers professional and recreational gamblers alike a new perspective on the casino games of, blackjack, craps and roulette. In 21 chapters Casino Gambling dispels myths, crushes age old dogma, and enlightens new age gamblers of the true winning potential of the aformentioned games, as well as providing a no holds bared expose of many of the games offered by the casinos. Casino Gambling provides cutting edge methodology for all gamblers regardless of skill level. It is a technically complete yet easy read which can be understood by the rank amateur yet informative enough to provoke thought from the most experienced of gambling professionals. The methods outlined in it have helped me stay in front of the casinos for years. I feel the chapter on developing a winning attitude alone is well worth the cover price. A copy of this book belongs on the night stand or book shelf of every gambler out there, period. It is my opinion that this guide is destined to be a gambling classic.

5 star book on casino gambling
I've been reading the books of Jerry Patterson for some 20 or so years. Over the years, he has consistently delivered fresh and unique approaches to casino gambling which have been very helpful to me. Casino Gambling is no exception. For example, "Winning Factors" for the multi-deck blackjack shoe games is something I can put into use right away.

I especially like the "getting an advantage" theme of the book which is prevalent in the blackjack, craps and roulette chapters. While I'm not a Craps player, the Advantage Craps System has me tempted to go looking for those long forgotten souvenir dice! And I like the fact that in this one book, I now have information I can use in playing any casino table game including casino poker games like Pai Gow and Let It Ride.

Chapter 2, entitled Mental Preparation, should (in my opinion), be read by anyone who ever places any type of wager. The advice given here alone, is worth the price of the book.

Highly recommended.

Casino Gambling
This book touches on many things that even most of the experienced "average gamblers" are probably unaware of. Even the blackjack player who considers themself as a good player who knows perfect basic strategy will find many other helpful ideas to improve their game, whether they wish to make use of just a few things covered in the book and play near even with the casino or seriously study and practice the tactics and make blackjack a profitable game for them. When I used to play blackjack, I had no idea that the cards were not random and lost much more than I should have at a bad table. After reading the book you should be able to eliminate those "bad" tables and keep any losses you have to a minimum by employing the prooper money management strategies. The craps and roulette chapters cover many useful ideas that most gamblers are unaware of. Whether blackjack, roulette, or craps, making use of the information in the book should seperate the reader from

majority of other gamblers. A must read for any gamblers bookshelf.

Some useful info
Although this book does not recommend any specific system to employ at the tables, it does however give the reader a breakdown of result occurence (banker, player) which could be used when anticipating the best time to place a bet.

The book on Baccarat!
Lyle Stuart does it again, shining light on the world of gambling, true tales of instant wealth and even faster ruin. Stuart is one of the foremost authorities on Baccarat and gambling, winning several world champion Baccarat games and going home with hundreds of thousands of dollars in winnings.

Lyle tells you the odds, how to beat them and how to walk away before they turn against you.

Finally Baccarat from the trenches!
Lyles Stuart tells not only how to win at Baccarat but more importantly how not to lose your shirt. Lyle is a world champion Baccarat player and actually plays exactly how he writes with enthusiasm and passion, balanced by common sense.

This incredible book gives an insider's view of both the game and the world of gambling. His stories will have you laughing and grimacing from one moment to the next as he tells of millions lost and won.

As a gambling authority, Mr. Stuart, is often called on to help casinos protect themselves from cardcheats and cons. He tells you exactly which games to play for the best odds and which to run from with wallet gripped firmly in hand.

All in all this is one of the best baccarat and gambling books I have ever read.

Read this and ye shall know all
I had gotten this book from the library about 6 years ago. After running it through the paces of a computer program, I did find that his systems do work.
The systems are based on what goes up, must come down. Well, in real life, that is not always true, at least in your bankrolls time frame. You must use money management. Also, I have found that you MUST run several progressions at the same time. It helps you ride out the ones that have gone a bit long losing.
I found his talk about poss. rigged casinos a bit dated. This was also written before online gambling, which would have been nice. He mentioned several times about the minimum table limits being too high, but they aren't too high online. Too bad those games were avoided because of this.
His talk of God and other things eternal I thought was well done, and did not go on. Plus, you can skip right over it to the systems. Would like to compare notes with others sep2034athotmail.

Good
The systems really work, that's why I gave it 5 stars, but it's too full of syrup to be a really enjoyable read.

Inspiring
People who love the Lord will like this one very much. Atheists will despise it deeply. On the surface it appears to be a collection of mathematical gambling systems, but in his discussion of the phenomenon of luck, he gets into the role of the Almighty, and turns it into a treatise on the spiritual evolution of the human race. An unusual book, notable for its very great integrity. A fun book to read.
